The Service is about alcoholic beverages and is intended for adults of legal drinking age only. You must be at least 21 years old to use it, regardless of the legal drinking age where you live. We verify age at sign-up and will deny access to anyone who doesn't confirm they meet this requirement.

TipsyBot helps you catalog the bottles you own, discover cocktails you can make with them, log drinks you've made, build shopping lists, and — optionally — chat with an AI assistant or use photo recognition to identify bottles. TipsyBot does not sell, ship, or deliver alcohol. Recipe and ingredient information is provided for informational purposes and may be sourced from third parties, user submissions, or generated with the help of AI; we don't guarantee its accuracy.

You need an account to use most of the Service. Accounts are managed through our authentication provider (Clerk) and may use email, password, or third-party sign-in (e.g. Google). You're responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for anything that happens under your account. Tell us if you believe your account has been compromised.

You may submit content to the Service — recipes, journal entries, notes, photos you use for bottle identification, chat messages, and similar material ("User Content"). You keep ownership of your User Content, but you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display it as needed to operate the Service, including showing your submitted recipes to other users if you choose to submit them for the shared catalog.

You're responsible for what you submit. Don't submit anything unlawful, infringing, abusive, or that you don't have the rights to share. We may review, moderate, edit, or remove submitted recipes before they appear for other users, and we may remove any content that violates these Terms.

Chat and photo-based bottle identification are powered by third-party AI models (currently Anthropic). Messages and photos you submit to these features are sent to that provider for processing. AI responses can be wrong, incomplete, or misleading — including about ingredients, proportions, allergens, and alcohol content. Don't rely on the AI assistant for safety-critical decisions (for example, allergy information or how much alcohol is safe to consume). These features may be limited, throttled, or disabled at any time, including for cost-control reasons.

Some features may require a paid subscription ("Premium"), and the Service supports optional one-time or recurring tips to support development. Payments are processed by Stripe; we don't store your card details ourselves. Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Settings — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period, and we don't provide partial-period refunds except where required by law or at our discretion. Tips are generally non-refundable.

You agree not to:

• Use the Service if you are under the required age;
• Attempt to circumvent the age gate or misrepresent your age;
• Use the Service to promote excessive or irresponsible alcohol consumption, or to facilitate the sale of alcohol to minors;
• Scrape, reverse-engineer, or abuse the Service or its AI features;
• Upload malicious content or attempt to disrupt the Service;
• Violate any applicable law.

You can delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, misuse the Service, or if we discontinue the Service.

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We don't warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that recipe, ingredient, or AI-generated content will be accurate. Cocktail recipes involve alcohol; drink responsibly and don't drive or operate machinery after drinking. Nothing in the Service is medical, legal, or safety advice.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us, if any, in the 12 months before the claim arose.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we'll update the effective date above. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
